The FHMUN Report

FHMUN REPORT

I have been wondering about the Fraser Heights Model United Nations club so I decided to interview a new delegate of the MUN club:

Qiyang: What is MUN?

New delegate: MUN lets you experience being a United Nations member. In a way, it is a bit like debate. In MUN, you get to solve issues within a specific committee.

Qiyang: When is it?

New delegate: The meetings are every Friday at lunch and after school in room 214. The FHMUN conference is on November 1st and 2nd.

Qiyang: What do you do in MUN?

New delegate: You get to learn the rules and procedures, and you get to practice speaking in front of other MUN members. You get to vote and negotiate with other countries.

Qiyang: Why did you join this club?

New delegate: I joined MUN because it is a great learning experience, and it can improve my public speaking skills. It is also a great way of meeting new people, and the club is very interesting. I also get to learn more about the countries and the issues occurring in the world.

Qiyang: Would you recommend others to join MUN?

New delegate: Yes, I would recommend this to people who would like to learn more about the world and to people who would like to experience being a United Nations member. I am looking forward to the conference on November 1st and 2nd, and I am hoping to see a lot of other delegates there!

  2. Hi Qiyang,
I like how you included all the 5 W's in your post, and made it clear and easy to understand. One thing to improve on is to be less repetitive in some paragraphs, like the third to last paragraph. Another good thing is that the spelling and grammar was all right.

  3. Hi Qiyang,
My name is Jasper, you may know me.
First of all, it was very clear that you did the first option, which was the reporter. I liked how you made that clear to us, but not by directly telling us. You also completed all the objectives, such as stating all the five W's; What (MUN), who (Anyone interested), when (Fridays at lunch), where (Room 214) and why (Great learning experience). You also advertised the club in the end, so anyone with interest would feel excited to join. Something you could do to improve your writing would be to not have all of your information in the interview section. In real reports from reporters, that is just a small section. You could include some more information as just a piece of writing. Overall, your writing was still very awesome. I especially liked how you adjusted your interview to answer all of the questions that were needed to answer. Amazing writing!
